What Voters Need to Know
Thank you for joining us in this historic campaign!
A critical special primary election is coming up on October 7th, with early voting beginning September 17th and going through October 2nd. Turnout will decide this race, especially in Davidson, Montgomery, and Williamson Counties. We need to turn out voters EARLY!
Four Democrats are running, but only one has the leadership, the grassroots strength, and the ability to mobilize voters we need to win the general election: Vincent Dixie.
All reliable Democratic voters need to see on streaming and digital that Vincent Dixie is our best choice for Congress because he will fight funding cuts to local hospitals, and protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Vincent led the charge to suspend Tennessee’s grocery sales tax in the state legislature. In Congress, Vincent will continue his work to bring down costs for families. He’s in this fight to make sure all Tennesseans can build a better life.
After this message has broken through via digital, Black voters need to hear the same message on the radio. Together, we can make history and send a true fighter for working families to Congress.
About Vincent Dixie
Vincent Dixie is a father, husband, small business owner, and State Representative who’s never forgotten where he came from -- or who he’s fighting for.
Raised in Nashville by a single mom who proudly belonged to the Communications Workers of America, Vincent learned early what it meant to work hard, stretch a dollar, and show up for your neighbors.
He had his first job at 14, drove his mom to work by 15, and has never stopped working since -- through high school and college, and ultimately as the founder of multiple small businesses.
Vincent earned a degree in accounting and eventually an MBA while working part-time, paying rent, and helping support his family. He took care of his mom before she passed from cancer, raised two daughters with his wife Ericka (a teacher and school librarian), and built a life rooted in faith and community.
Now serving in the Tennessee State Legislature, Vincent has made his mark as a pragmatic, solutions-focused lawmaker who delivers for working families. He was the first Black leader of a legislative caucus in Tennessee history.
Vincent passed the SEM Advanced Course Act, reducing discrimination in the education system. He helped lead the charge to suspend Tennessee’s grocery sales tax -- giving folks a break at the register when they needed it most.
And when the Speaker of the House was exposed for racism, sexism, and corruption, Vincent stood up and led the charge to remove him.
In Congress, Vincent Dixie will fight to make life more affordable for everyday Tennesseans. That means cracking down on the big corporations that are driving up housing costs, lowering the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, and ensuring that every family can pay their bills, see a doctor, and live with dignity.
Vincent knows it’s become too expensive to be poor in America, and he’s running to change that. Because no matter where you live or who you voted for, you deserve a government that works for you.
As your Congressman, Vincent Dixie’s priorities will be:
- Affordable Housing: Tennessee families are being priced out of their own neighborhoods while Wall Street hedge funds scoop up entire blocks of homes. That’s not a free market -- it’s a rigged game. Vincent will fight to stop corporate landlords from driving up rents, expand access to affordable housing, and give every family a fair shot at owning a home.
- Affordable and Accessible Child Care: Too many parents are working multiple jobs but still can’t find safe, affordable childcare. That keeps families struggling and holds our economy back. Vincent will push to lower childcare costs, support childcare providers, and make sure every parent can go to work knowing their kids are cared for.
- Affordable and Accessible Healthcare: Hospitals are closing and people are being denied care based on their zip code or bank account. Vincent knows firsthand how broken the system is -- from his own family’s battles with diabetes and cancer. Vincent will fight to lower drug costs, protect Medicare and Medicaid, and expand coverage so no one goes bankrupt just because they got sick.
- Livable Wage: If you work hard, you ought to be able to make ends meet. Period. But wages haven’t kept up with the cost of groceries, rent, or gas. Vincent will fight to raise the minimum wage, strengthen unions, and make sure an honest day’s work earns an honest day’s pay.
